Milton CrowLimited PartnershipThe Milton Crow Limited Partnership holds the pine woods and bottomland Milton Crow assembled over his lifetime. Today his grandchildren and great-grandchildren own it in common and manage it as working forest.

Milton Crow understood the value of land before most people around him did. He saw that this part of north Louisiana held two kinds of wealth — timber growing above the ground, and oil and gas beneath it — and he put together the tracts the family still holds with both in mind, years before the area’s promise was widely seen.
He placed the land in a partnership so it would pass to his four children whole. His son, Donald Crow, managed it himself for many years, and his care shaped the forest the family has today. It is now carried on by the families of Milton’s three daughters — Carol, Nancy and Janice.

Upland pine on the ridge above the creek. The oldest natural stand was harvested in 2024 and replanted in 2026 — the next generation of the woods.

The smallest tract, along the old road. Young plantations from 2016 and 2024, with roadside hardwoods left standing.

The largest property, wrapped by the bayou. Pine plantations dating to 1998 and more than two hundred acres of streamside hardwood reserve, shared with the Livingstone family.
The partnership works with Muslow Forestry on a long-range plan: plant, thin, harvest and replant on a rotation measured in decades, while leaving streamside zones and hardwood bottoms as habitat. Income from timber is reinvested in the land and shared among the family branches.
Forestry managementEach branch descends from one of Milton Crow’s daughters. Day-to-day administration is handled by family members on behalf of all partners.

The Ostroff branch. Carol's children, Nick Ostroff and Natalie Ostroff, manage it on her behalf, and Nick handles administration and accounting for the partnership.

The Sanders branch. Nancy's husband, Jack Sanders, carries her share forward and represents the branch in the partnership.

The Livingstone branch, carried on by Bill, Scott, and Carol Salaiz after Janice and Bill Livingstone.
